At Special Event Tipis and Marquees we pride ourselves on giving our couples and clients all the tools to create an event as individual and unique as you!

Everyone is different and everyone has a their own dreams of how they would like their tipis and sailcloth tents to look. Because of this we have lots of different options, including our seating range for your guests!

This blog will give you a run through of all our different options for guest seating and wedding furniture, information regarding frequently asked questions and also some hints and tips about styling your guest tables.

Tables

We have three styles of tables available to hire. Our gorgeous Nordic pine, long wooden tables, our oak panelled long tables and our more traditional round tables.

All styles of tables work perfectly in both our Tipi and our Sailcloth Marquees, whichever tent you decide for your Special Event.

Nordic Pine, Long Wooden Tables

Our long wooden tables are perfect for banquet style dining as well as creating a pin wheel layout in your tipis.

The tables are solid and sturdy, and measure 2m x 70cm. They are made up from 3 solid pine panels measuring 22cm wide each. The tables sit at 74cm tall.

We recommend 6 – 8 guests per table. As standard we recommend 6 guests per table for formal sit down dining and 8 guests per table for more informal dining such as hog roasts.

These tables lend themselves perfectly to those not looking to use a table cloth, but they look equally as impressive if you would prefer to have them covered.

Wedding caterers are usually good at supplying table linen, including cloths and napkins. We would recommend a table cloth size of 108′ x 72′ for our long wooden tables.

If you decide to go for round tables, our long tables make a perfect one sided top table to look out over your guests.

HINT: If you’re looking to use a table cloth, please let us know and we will provide toppers to go underneath. As you may have noticed with the measurements above, the tables do have narrow gaps between the panels and these are best not to be covered without a topper!

Round Tables

Our round tables are perfect for a more traditional look for your special event. They measure 5ft 6 in (168cm) diameter sitting at 76cm tall. They seat 8 guests for formal dining and up to 10 guests for more informal dining.

Our round tables do require a table cloth and we recommend a 120 inch drop for these.

These tables look beautiful set up in the structures. They are also a popular choice as a central top table in a tipi pinwheel table plan using our Nordic long tables!

Oak Panel Tables

Beautiful solid wood tables, which have just joined our fleet last year to coincide with the debut of our beautiful Sailcloth Marques, but they look equally beautiful in our Tipis. They work perfectly for a top table without tablecloths, but would also make for beautiful guest tables.

The measurements of these tables are 2m x 77cm and seat 6 guests.

We have a great selection of options for your guests to rest their feet and take a seat for your wedding reception, or special event. Our range includes long benches, folding wooden chairs, lime wash Chiavari chairs and oak cross back chairs.

Everyone has their own individual tastes and has different requirements for their seating, so we like to give plenty of choice for our clients. We can also change your seating options as much as you like throughout your booking!

HINT: If you’re unsure about which option you would like for your seating, come to one of our Open Days! We will have all our seating options available for you to try out. Sometimes you can arrive with one favourite and leave with another!

Folding Wooden Chairs

Our folding wooden chairs are our low priced tier option for individual seating, but this isn’t their only selling point, they are very comfortable due to the angle of the back of the chair! They also look very stylish in the tipis and sailcloth marquees and offer a more minimalist look for your seating.

Limewash Chiavari Chairs

Our limewash chairs look beautiful in both the sailcloth marquees and the tipis. They are our mid-range chairs option and offer a soft, plush, ivory cushion, for added comfort and they are perfect if you are looking for a more ‘fancy’ chair option and look great with both the long wooden tables and the round tables with a tablecloth.

Oak Cross Back Chairs

Our oak cross back chairs are our top-range chair option and are very popular in both styles of structure, as well as being used for ceremonies, too! They have a soft, woven pad in a neutral colour, which makes them very versatile with any colour scheme.

Long Wooden Benches

Long benches work perfectly as guest seating for your wedding breakfast with our long tables, as an option for your ceremony seating and also as part of a chill out area!

They are very popular when used exactly as they are, but they can also be hired in conjunction with our ivory seat pads to add a bit of padding or with a reindeer skin for a more cosy feel.

They measure 30cm x 2m and seat 3 – 4 guests.
