You have full flexibility on your choice of suppliers, and you can have input on every detail, giving you a wedding day or event that will be totally individual and personal to you.
It’s hard to pick our favourite DIY Tipi pitch but below are 6 showstopper options to get you started!
1. Robin Hood Farm is so much more than a just a field wedding venue…it is a hidden gem, nestled in the heart of the Lake District countryside. It is an ideal outdoor wedding venue for couples who want a bespoke rustic, outdoor wedding experience with one of the best views the Lake District has to offer. You will be surrounded by stunning natural beauty, enjoy uninhibited seclusion and uninterrupted views of Skiddaw, Bassenthwaite Lake, and surrounding fells. Situated in Bassenthwaite just 10 minutes from Keswick, Robin Hood Farm is ideal for those looking for an accessible Northern Lake District Venue.
2. The Netherby Estate – The Estate is made up of a mixture of woodland, grassland, and various areas of farmland filled with nature – there are so many Tipi options for your outside wedding, party, mini festival, or corporate celebration. Situated on the Border between Cumbria and Scotland and within an easy drive to Carlisle it is easily accessible from all areas.
3. Buttermere Lake Side – One of our most famous Lake District wedding and event venues, Buttermere Lake shore has the real WOW factor – dramatic mountain scenery on the banks of Buttermere Lake. It’s a large site with plenty of room for glamping or camping and our Tipi tents of course! The pitch is in easy walking distance to Buttermere village and its amenities including the Parish Church that’s welcomes couples from outside of the parish. This pitch is particularly popular with festival style weddings, and we can organise all the necessary amenities to make this happen!
4. Parkhouse Barn Paddocks – A variety of tranquil and secluded spots offering beautiful countryside views from Park House Barn in Milnthorpe. The farm creates a relaxed and tranquil vibe, perfect for celebrating your wedding or any kind of special event surrounded by idyllic and peaceful countryside. If you are thinking picnic’s and haybales this could be the pitch for you!
5. The Fishing Hut is a lovely scenic drive down a single track. As you get further away from the road, you enter your very own patch of beautiful and secluded countryside. A great little spot, stretching out along a lovely section of the meandering River Esk with woodland on one side and open countryside on the other. There is even the perfect river outlook for an outdoor ceremony and our Tipi tents! The Fishing Hut is also walkable distance from the local church where it is possible for couples from outside the parish to marry. Situated in Longtown on the Border between Cumbria and within an easy drive to Carlisle it is easily accessible from all areas.
6. Grizedale Forest. Nestled deep within the Forest you will find the perfect woodland Tipi wedding spot with Lake views of Coniston Water. The magical area is owned by the Forestry Commission and is a great alternative to traditional wedding and event venues! Giving the option for enchanted twilight ceremonies filled with twinkling lights, this spot is for true romantics!
