Since 2011, Special Event Tipis & Marquees has been trusted by over 1,000 couples to bring their weddings and special occasions to life. From cosy gatherings of 25 guests to large-scale celebrations, we offer tipi hire, sailcloth marquee hire and stretch tent hire across Cumbria, the Lake District, Northumberland and southern Scotland.

Our structures are crafted from natural materials, creating a relaxed, stylish and eco-friendly setting for weddings, corporate events, festivals and private parties.

Tipi Tents

If you’re looking for something a little different, our giant tipis create a warm and memorable atmosphere for any event.

We offer three tipi options:

Giant Hat Tipi – a spacious and flexible structure that can be linked together for larger events

Kung Tipi – a smaller, more intimate space, perfect for dining areas or chill-out zones

Nimbus Tipi – ideal for bars, photo booths, children’s areas or cosy seating spaces

Our tipi hire is perfect for couples wanting a unique, rustic feel while still keeping things practical and weatherproof.

Sailcloth Marquees

Light, airy and effortlessly elegant, our sailcloth marquees are a beautiful choice for weddings and events of all sizes.

With a range of configurations available, our sailcloth marquee hire allows you to create a space that suits your guest numbers and layout. The wooden poles and flowing canvas create a soft, natural look, while the clear sidewalls can be raised or lowered depending on the weather.

We also offer a covered walkway, allowing multiple marquees to be linked together for added flexibility.

Stretch Tents

Our stretch tents offer a versatile and stylish solution, perfect for outdoor ceremonies, covered reception areas or relaxed lounge spaces.

Measuring 10m x 15m, our stretch tent hire includes natural canvas, bamboo poles and soft lighting to create a beautiful setting. They can be styled simply or dressed up to suit your event, and can even be added at the last minute if the weather turns
