At Special Event Tipis & Marquees we provide authentic Tentipi structures for weddings and events across Cumbria, the Lake District, North Yorkshire, Northumberland and Scotland. Their modular design allows us to create layouts that work for everything from intimate gatherings to larger celebrations.

Manufactured in Sweden by Tentipi, our Nordic structures combine traditional Scandinavian design with modern engineering. Since 2011 we have worked exclusively with Tentipi tipis, delivering more than 1,700 outdoor events, giving us real experience of how they perform in different venues, landscapes and seasons.

A Flexible Space for Your Celebration

One of the things couples love most about tipis is how adaptable they are. The structures can be linked together in a variety of ways to create a layout that works around your guest numbers, your venue and how you would like the day to work.

In the summer months, raising the sides allows the surrounding landscape to become part of the celebration, creating a natural flow between inside and out. When the sides are lowered, the canopy creates a warmer and more sheltered space that works well for evening receptions or cooler seasons.

Inside, the timber poles and canvas canopy naturally create an atmosphere that feels relaxed, sociable and easy for guests to enjoy, perfect for everything from wedding breakfasts and speeches, through to busy dance floors later in the evening.

Designed Around Your Event

Every celebration is slightly different, and our layouts are always planned around your guest numbers, venue and your individual event plans.

As a general guide:

1 Giant Hat can seat around 50 guests
2 Giant Hats around 100 guests
3 Giant Hats around 150 guests
4 or more can accommodate 200+ guests

Guest numbers per structure always depend on the layout and how you would like the space arranged, so we are always happy to talk through the options and help design a layout that suits your plans.

Alongside the structures, we provide flooring, lighting, heating and a wide range of furniture including dining tables, chairs, bars, dance floors and lounge seating so the space feels comfortable, welcoming and well considered.
